Dr. David R. Thomsen was born and raised in Anaheim, California. From a young age, his dedication to education and leadership became evident in his school, church, and community service.

After graduating from High School, he became fluent in Spanish and worked one-on-one with inner-city Hispanics in the Greater New York City area for two years while serving as a church missionary.

He later attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, while simultaneously completing a vigorous pre-medical science curriculum.

He then attended the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he received his Doctorate degree at this country’s preeminent Chiropractic teaching facility. While at Palmer College, Dr. Thomsen completed a successful externship at the renowned Palmer Clinic in Davenport, Iowa. There, he was engaged in studying various techniques and researching methods to accelerate the healing process.

Additionally, he served as Managing Editor for “The Palmer Beacon”, the student newspaper of Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Thomsen, along with his wife and children, moved to Winter Haven, Florida in 1997 and began working as a chiropractic extern.

In 1998, he purchased Hendricks Chiropractic Office, P.A. and later renamed his practice Prime Care Chiropractic Centers, P.A. After 20 years in practice, Prime Care Chiropractic Centers has become a well-known and trusted location for Chiropractic care in Central Florida.

Dr. Thomsen has created the ActiveFlex Protocol for the non-surgical treatment of spinal disorders. The ActiveFlex Protocol combines therapeutic exercisies, ultrasound therapy, computerized spinal decompression, and interferential electrical stimulation to treat many spinal conditions.

Dr. Thomsen’s commitment to community involvement, as evidenced by his active membership in local service and church organizations, is mirrored by his commitment to the Chiropractic profession and a dedicated, on-going program of post-graduate education. He is a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Thomsen stays busy outside the office serving in his church, working with local youth groups, and serving in the Rotary Club of Winter Haven. His greatest joy is spending time with his wife, five children, their spouses, and his two grandchildren.

Chiropractic Intern, Prime Care Chiropractic Centers, P.A.

Jason Thomsen was born in Provo, Utah and spent most of his life growing up in Winter Haven, Florida. He is the oldest of Dr. David Thomsen’s children and has recently joined “the family business” at Prime Care Chiropractic. He has a background in sports & rehab and will be offering a new and unique skill set to Prime Care. Jason decided that with his love of sports and his desire to help others, becoming a chiropractor would be an excellent avenue to fulfill his passions.

Sports have always been a significant part of his life. Jason played soccer for 12 years, including 2 seasons on the competitive Winter Haven Kicks club team and another 2 seasons as a member of the Lake Region High School soccer team. He also played baseball and basketball for the city of Winter Haven. Jason has since moved on from chasing a ball and now spends his time chasing the clock. He found his passion for running while participating in “Mile Monday’s” in middle school. Since then, he has participated in over 100 5ks, 12 half marathons and 6 marathons and those numbers are still growing.

Jason graduated from Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake, Florida with high honors (LRHS 2008). While attending Lake Region, he earned 10 Varsity letters in cross country, soccer and track. When Jason graduated, his name was attached to 6 school running records. He has also returned to his alma mater and is an assistant cross country and track coach at Lake Region High School.

He later attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (2014). While at BYU, he was one of the program directors for the prestigious Cancer Research Center and was also a leader on the College of Life Science Student Council, the largest college at BYU.

He is currently finishing up his internship from Palmer College of Chiropractic-Florida campus in Port Orange, Florida and will be earning his Doctorate degree, graduating Cum Laude (with honors). While in school, Jason continued his role as a leader and served as an Executive Council member of the Palmer Sports Council. He also served as one of the team chiropractors for the Bethune Cookman University athletic program for 6 months. Jason is trained in techniques including the “Palmer Package,” extremity adjusting and IASTM.

Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and is the proud parent of two children.
